Stéphane is a Managing Partner and the CEO of Alba Infra Partners.
He has been a partner at 3i for 11 years, where he has led the origination of Projects in Europe and all infrastructure deals in France and Iberia.
For over 15 years, he has also been in charge of the management of the Paris office, with 3i and previously with Barclays.
Stéphane led EOPF’s fundraising together with John Cavill and led EOPF’s deal origination.
He has c.28 years of experience in the infrastructure industry with particular focus on energy transition, healthcare and transportation. Prior to 3i, Stéphane was working in Barclays Infra funds in London and Paris.
He started his career in the World Bank in Washington, and also headed Egis Investment Partners in France.
Stéphane graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ponts-et-Chaussées in France.
He is fluent in English, Spanish and French.

Antoine Matton

Antoine is a Managing Partner in Alba Infra Partners.
Antoine has been with the business for 16 years and had a key role in the deployment of EOPF, having notably originated and led investments in Germany, Ireland and Spain, and been involved in investments in the Netherlands and France. Antoine sits at the Board of a number of these assets.
Since 8 years, he is a Director, where he has been originating, executing and managing projects and core+ infrastructure investments.
Antoine has 15 years of experience in infrastructure, with a particular focus on energy transition, social infrastructure and transportation.
Prior to joining 3i, Antoine was working at Barclays Infra Funds in Paris, where he focused on investments in greenfield projects.
Antoine graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris and holds a Licence in Economics, obtained with Honours, from the Paris Dauphine University.

John Cavill

John is a Managing Partner in Alba Infra Partners and CIO, with specific oversight at existing fund and portfolio performance.
John has been managing the EOPF and BIIF portfolios since inception and has a demonstrable track record of fund performance in line with investor expectations.
John has c.26 years in the infrastructure industry and continues to sit on many portfolio company boards and also sat on the boards of SRL (EEAS company), Thameslink (rolling stock company) and WIG (a telecoms tower business).
Previously, John was a Partner at 3i, a Director at Barclays Infrastructure Funds, St Modwen Properties, Land Securities and Vinci. Earlier in his career he worked for Arup.
John has a Geography Degree from the University of Liverpool, an MSc in Transport Planning & Economics from the University of Cardiff and an MBA from Cass Business School.

Stéphane has been with the business for over 19 years focusing on the origination, execution and asset management of projects, on both the greenfield and the brownfield sides of infrastructure investment, in France and Benelux, across a range of sectors ranging from social infra, telco, green energy, up to smart cities / green mobility and more recently on next generation opportunities.
Stéphane leads on the management of our portfolio of investments in France and is involved in the management of the Dutch projects. Also, he has been a lecturer on “Large Projects / Projects Finance / Energy Transition” at Sciences Po Paris since 2007.
Prior to 3i, Stéphane was at Barclays Infrastructure Funds, which he joined in 2005 to set up the business and originate investment opportunities in France. Before this, he was a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group in Paris and also worked in M&A for Morgan Stanley in London.
Stéphane holds an MBA with distinction from INSEAD, an MSc in Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris and an MSc in Finance & Economics from the London School of Economics.

Matt Edwards

Matt has been with the business for over 7 years focusing on asset management and specifically resolution of performance issues, implementing investment case deliverables and value enhancement opportunities across BIIF and EOPF. Matt also supported deal origination and execution of project investments in EOPF.
He has 16 years of experience in the infrastructure industry. Matt currently sits on the board of 21 portfolio companies across BIIF (14) and EOPF (7) covering energy, transport and health.
Matt was on the board of 3i’s energy transition portfolio companies Infinis (transition to Solar and Battery storage) and Future Biogas (green gas platform).
Prior to joining 3i and Alba Infra Partners, Matt worked at Innisfree for over 7 years where he was involved in asset management and deal execution. Prior to Innisfree, Matt worked at Grant Thornton in the Project Finance team.
Matt is a Chartered Accountant of England and Wales.

Gil Kiener

Currently serving as the General Secretary at Alba Infrastructure Partners, Gil Kiener is a distinguished legal professional with a focused expertise in infrastructure, private equity, and M&A.
Her extensive experience includes an impressive 11-year tenure as a lawyer in the corporate & financial services department of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in Paris, where she ascended to Partner. At Willkie Farr, Gil was mainly involved in French and international M&A and private equity transactions, for listed or non-listed groups or investment funds. This role not only highlighted her ability to navigate complex transactional landscapes but also earned her recognition as a “Rising Star” in Law.com International’s European Ranking in 2022.
Prior to her current role, Gil also worked as General Counsel for a management company specialized in private equity, real estate and infrastructure, where she was notably in charge of investment vehicles’ structuring and provided comprehensive legal oversight for both the funds and the management company.
Gil possesses a robust academic background, including a Master 2 Droit des Affaires / DJCE from the University of Nancy II and was admitted to the Paris Bar.

Bryan is the CFO of Alba Infra Partners.
Bryan has been with 3i for over 8 years and is the Finance Director for BIIF and EOPF.
Bryan manages the valuation and yield processes, investor reporting, lender management, value enhancement strategies, financial modelling and analysis.
Bryan currently sits on the board of a number portfolio companies across BIIF covering energy and health.
Prior to joining 3i, Bryan worked at Amber Infrastructure for over 7 years where he was involved in portfolio management and asset valuation of International Public Partnership. Prior to Amber, Bryan worked at Deloitte in Australia and South Africa.
Bryan holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science (Honours) from the University of South Africa and is a Chartered Accountant of South Africa.

Fernando Castagnolo

Fernando has been with the business for 5 years , focusing on execution, asset management and origination for projects.
Fernando has supported deal execution of EOPF’s investments in AGESA, the projects portfolios in France and The Netherlands.
Fernando takes a primary role in project financings, having led the issuance of EOPF’s portfolio financings, the refinancings of AGESA and Autovía del Turia, as well as the financing of renewable projects developed by companies held outside of projects. Outside of projects, Fernando supported on the asset management of 3i’s Oystercatcher and was responsible for origination and execution of core + opportunities in Iberia.
Prior to joining 3i, Fernando worked at Citigroup for 8 years where he focused on debt advisory, structuring, placement and lending to multiple transportation, energy, power and infrastructure clients across EMEA. Prior to Citigroup, Fernando worked in two corporates based in Argentina, focusing on treasury, accounting and cash management.

Chouaib has been with the business for 5 years and is involved in the origination, execution and asset management of brownfield projects and core+ infrastructure assets.
Chouaib’s transaction experience includes in particular Valorem, a leading renewable energy developer and operating company, and Attero, a leading pan-European energy from waste company, for which he was actively involved in the asset management and was a board observer.
Chouaib has played key role in the deployment of EOPF, having notably been involved in the acquisition in AGESA, Talbot, NGM, La Seine Musicale and the French and Dutch PPP portfolios.
Prior to joining 3i, Chouaib was an Associate in the Energy and Infrastructure team at BNP Paribas in Paris, covering Financial Advisory and Project / Acquisition Financing (origination, structuring and execution) in the EMEA region.
Chouaib graduated from the Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées and holds an MSc in Infrastructure Project Finance.

Rick has been with the business for 5 years and is involved in the portfolio management, asset management and execution of infrastructure projects.
Rick’s primary focus is on the portfolio management activities on BIIF and EOPF (c.130 projects across Europe).
Rick supported the deal execution of EOPF’s investment in the project’s portfolios in France and The Netherlands.
Prior to joining 3i and Alba Infra Partners, Rick worked at a boutique financial advisory company for 3 years where he focused on financial modelling for project finance transactions. Prior to that, Rick worked at GE Energy with a focus on financial management for renewable energy project development.
Rick holds an MSc in Infrastructure Investment & Finance from University College London.

Marco Pampanin

Marco has been with the business for more than 2 years and is involved in the origination, execution and asset management of core+ infrastructure assets and brownfield projects.
Marco’s experience includes in particular Valorem, a leading renewable energy developer and operating company; Ionisos, a leading owner and operator of cold sterilisation facilities in Europe; and Herambiente, a leading waste management company.
Marco is actively involved in the asset management of EOPFs’ Italian PPPs, including Vimercate, Terza Torre and MFM Capital.
Before joining 3i, Marco worked at UniCredit in the Infrastructure & Power Project Finance team in Milan, covering Financial Advisory and Project Financing in the CEE region.
Marco holds an MSc in Finance from Bocconi University (Italy).

Marine joined the team in January 2024 as an intern. She assists the team with various tasks including portfolio management and fund valuation. Marine actively participates in the asset management of NGM and Munster. Before joining 3i, Marine was an M&A and Project Finance intern at Echosys Advisory, after a summer internship in Structured Finance at NatWest. Marine graduated from Edhec Business School and holds an MSc in Corporate Finance and Banking and a Licence in Computer Science and Mathematics from Université Paris Dauphine.

Curbi joined the team in June 2024 as the UK Office Manager and Executive Assistant, 5 months after working as the teams Executive Assistant at 3i. Prior to joining 3i & Alba Infra Partners, Curbi worked as a Project Manager at Saputo Dairy UK, managing the integration and roll out of their new Human Resources system, after Saputo acquired Dairy Crest in 2019. Curbi has 11 years’ experience covering PR, Events, Office Management and Executive assistance.
