In 2013, BIIF acquired stakes in the Sheringham Shoal Offshore OFTO. The Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm  consists of 88 wind turbines with total capacity of 317MW, linked to two offshore substations.

These offshore stations are connected by two 22km submarine cables to an onshore substation at Salle, near Norwich.

The OFTO is the infrastructure for transmission of power from the Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm to the on-shore electricity grids.
